About the poet :

William Shakespeare was born on April 23, 1564 at Stratford- on-Avon in the country of Warwickshire, central England.

His father name was John Shakespeare he was a prosperous businessman

In age of 13 in 1582 he married Anne Hathaway, a girl senior to him by eight years.
He had one son and two daughters

He died in 1616 on the anniversary of his birthday in the place of his birth

He wrote thirty seven plays. His non- dramatic poetry comprises Venus and adonis, The Rape of Lucrece , Sonnets, (it includes 154 sonnets in number) .

POEM

The quality of mercy is not strain'd,
It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven
Upon the place beneath: it is twice blessed ;
It blesseth him that gives and him that takes :
It is mightiest in the mightiest it becomes
The throned monarch better than his crown;
His sceptre shows the force of temporal power ,
The attribute to awe and majesty,
Wherein doth sit the dread and fear of kings;
But mercy is above this sceptred sway,
It is enthroned in the hearts of kings,
It is am attribute to god himself ,
And earthly power doth then show likest God's
When mercy seasons justice.
